Sponsors are integral to the theme of Indibloggies. More than anything else, their involvement with the event signifies the ethos of the Internet in general and the blogdom in particular, the intent is of significance, not the value of the award.
Previous Indibloggies events have seen fellow bloggers donate prizes, in fact the debut event had no awards other than those coming from the blogdom itself. The theme of collaboration is so rampant in the event, and I am not referring to the bogus voting, that happens ;), the kind souls who donate their products know that this is not perhaps an apt platform for advertisement, yet they go for it. This is just incredible.
