Arnab (Greatbong)’s blog is one of the most significant attempts in Cyberspace. The blog is distinguished by three critical success factors: 1. Honest, straight from the heart, unembarrassed and unpretentious content. 2. Uncannily manages to articulate and elicit articulation of very complex, difficult to articulate and yet deeply held views by a large proportion of the population, cutting across barriers of age, nationality and generation. Yet he preserves the fact that it is obviously the opinion of a young, educated Indian who happens to be, and celebrates being, Bengali. 3. Most critical, he invites, participates in, and fosters an active comments section, that in turn creates subcommunities. hence, being on Arnab’s blog is indeed a very affirming experience. A champion, I say!

ArnabDA rocks!!
RTDM is probably and arguably the best indi-blog in cyber space!

Arnab / GreatBong also seems to be pretty Bengal-centric. See how you are abused in the comments section, if you dare disagree with Greatbong, or if you are not a Ganguly or Mithun fan.

Arnab Ray’s blog “Random Thoughts Of A Demented Mind” is one of the smartest, classiest and most intelligent works by an Indian in the cyberspace. His writings not only contain top-class wit and subtle humour but also conveys serious and thought-provoking messages (often disguised with wit and sarcasm).
Methinks, it (the blog in question) should win hands down this year.
I cast my vote for Arnab’s blog [http://greatbong.net]

Thought provoking, yet exhilerating. Random Thoughts of a Demented Mind never fails to bring a smile to my face and on occasions leaves me with a lump in my throat.
Best wishes to Arnab.

Our thanks go to all those who nominated and the jury that shortlisted Majavani.
Yes, Mahatma Gandhi & Mother Teresa are our role models. If we win the award we will spend the entire next year traveling around the globe spreading awareness about global warming to common people and urging them not to heat the globe too much.
Life has not been the same since we got nominated for this award. It’s a bit embarrassing to learn now that there was no swimsuit round. Frankly, we blame the organizers for not making this very clear to all the nominees.
Finally, we have a message to the Pulitzer and Goenka awards committees: Year after year you have ignored us. Now eat this nomination!

Hi all,
Its nice to be part of blogosphere. I am relatively new to this craft, and like with most endevours in life, trying to excel in the ‘amateur’ catergory of blog writers. It was nice to read from some really good writers before voting. I wish the readers of this comment to visit my blog as well, and give feedback. Though sans formatting, i feel the blog is improving by day.

The banner at the top says prizes worth Rs 13 lacs. Isn’t that factually incorrect? I guess a typo is to blame.
Debashish replied: Why do you think it’s factually incorrect Arzan?
24. arZan | February 22nd, 2007 at 7:09 am
OK I take back my earlier comment. You write here
This is in the entry here. Thus from Rs 85K to 13 lacs is a big jump. Therefore the surprise. No intention to doubt your actions or intent.

I didn’t notice Goablog in the best new blog category before but I have issues with it as I feel they take material from other sites without proper attribution. More here:
