5 Step guide to using Nomination Bookmarklet
If you wish to nominate a lot of sites and if you are fairly conversant with del.icio.us it would be prudent to use a convenient bookmarklet to nominate the blogs/sites.
Step 1: Generate Bookmarket: First and foremost, you would need a del.icio.us account. To create your custom del.cio.us. bookmarklet, visit the page here, enter your del.cio.us username and press Submit. |
Step 2: Save your bookmarklet: Your bookmarklet is now generated. Notice the link “Indibloggies 2006 Nomination”. Bookmark this link. |
Step 3: Nominating a blog/site: With the bookmarklet handy, nomination is now very easy. Only make sure that you are already logged into del.icio.us using the same username with which you created the bookmarklet. Now, visit the site you wish to nominate and while being on the page click the Nomination bookmark in your Favorites. |
Step 4: Categorize the blog/site: On the incoming page Select a Category (and language if the blog is an IndicBlog), mention why you are nominating the blog and press the “Next” button. Do not change the generated Tags and as a safeguard copy the tags (Ctrl+c). |
Step 5: Post to Del.icio.us: You are now taken to the del.icio.us posting page. If already logged into del.icio.us you would find all the details already filled in, if you were not, you would be taken to the login page. Note that after you login you would lose the tags and site description. (But if you saved the “tags” as told in Step (4) you simply have to paste the same and enter the description again). Press “save” and you are done. |
