Indibloggies 2006 : Empowered by the community
The Indibloggies 2006 Event commenced in November 2006 and concluded in January 2006. This was the fourth edition of Indibloggies following the 2003, 2004 and 2005 events.

Indibloggies 2005: The power of collective wisdom
Indibloggies 2005 has been the most grand event so far, sponsors pitched in with prizes worth about Rs.75000/-. With more than 300 nominations made over 10 days and close to 25 Jurors browsing through the myriad flavors of writing and rating them, stage one of the Indibloggies 2005 edition was no mean affair. A record 1278 people registered for the poll but only 892 actually cast their vote. Many have written that the numbers are really really small compared to the fact we have lot many Indian blogs around, but to me the numbers are really unimportant, events like the Indibloggies only renew the faith of the people who have been blogging consistently, or people like me who just hang around for the fun.
Indibloggies used the bookmarking tool del.icio.us for the nomination and Scuttle for the juror-rating phase. We had customized bookmarklets and tag-generators for delicious. The Scuttle interface was also customized for the occasion (compare the actual interface with the customized one). Here is a screen-grab of page showing the final tally. The final results were declared on January 14th, 2005.

Indibloggies 2004 : Gaining ground
The Indibloggies 2004 ushered in more vigor and wider participation. The event saw the introduction of the concept of “Jurors” where the nominations from the bloggers had a sort of “peer review”, if you may call it, from a group of bloggers who have been blogging consistently since quite a while. A twelve member Jury Panel consisting of prominent bloggers was appointed.
The event also saw a good support from Sponsors; many bloggers also plunged in with their donations and support. It feels good to say that goodies worth more than Rs.25,000/- were distributed as Prizes. For those interested in Trivia: Voting on nominated blogs began 10 January 2005 and concluded on January 22, 2005. The results were declared on January 24, 2005.

Indibloggies 2003 : A hesitant start
November 2003 was the moment where it all began. The site was launched at http://indibloggies.blogspot.com by Debashish Chakrabarty as a fun veture, he felt that he wasn’t able to read so many good blogs just because he never heard of them. The blog was started at free hosting service from Blogger.com in 2003 with many few bloggers such as Melodrama and Anita Bora contributing with their awards. The Indibloggies wsbsite now operates from http://www.indibloggies.org and has an allied blog.
