In spite of your marked reluctance to elaborate on the subject, I can’t resist posing the two questions that I am going to ask you right here.

    1. Why cows? There are more disadvantaged animals in India, donkeys for example. And even if the motive is to crack a few jokes, there is immense potential in them asses. (donkeys I meant, only!)

    2. In case you move to your own domain or something, will we ever see a banner featuring cows? Or asses even, in case you shift allegiance, seeing sense in my first question.

    Two questions to Amit:

    a) What happened to the podcast with Ram Guha that you promised several months ago?

    b) When is the redesign of ‘India Uncut’ expected?

    regards,
    Bhushan.

You post a lot on the language skills of several reporters. I know some journos who read your blog but dont see anything “wrong” with the para or whathever you’ve quoted.

    EXAMPLE :

Actresses make pretty pictures. And these days, even more so, as the dress has come back in vogue! Dare bare acts are passé. Our ladies, these days, prefer to ‘dress’ up. ‘Smart’ has been replaced by the ‘dainty’, and the tom-boyish image and well-toned frame that was famous once, during the Dhoom 1 phase, has been swapped with the more fragile figurine. And even a well-toned Bipasha Basu in Dhoom 2 , has made sure to add a frill or two…
Sigh. No doubt the guy who wrote this excerpt thought, possibly in Marathi or Hindi, that this was exceptionally well-written. I just want to know what his editor was thinking.

Ever thought of doing a little “here’s what this should actually be written as ” type of thingie for each such post ?

Ofcourse , its very likely that people will start mistaking you for their high school english teachers but worth it no ?

There should be a provision that participants can stick an “IndiBloggies” image/animation (linking back to this site) which will not only bring attention of blog readers but also will help in spreading this message so that more and more people can participate.

I had always felt that somehow your blog is more of luck and less of work. How then, can I take your posts featuring just a “heh” or “Joy.” as posts from Indibloggies, blog of the year or something?
